Job Summary:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis and reporting at Tibu Health. This role involves managing budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of healthcare finance, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

• Cash flow projections and planning
• Develop and oversee financial planning and budgeting processes for Tibu Health.
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management.

Budget Management:

• Monitor and manage departmental budgets, ensuring alignment with Tibu Health’s strategic goals.

Financial Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific financial regulations and accounting standards.

Compliance and Controls:

• Oversee adherence to healthcare financial regulations and industry guidelines.

Cash Flow Management:

• Manage cash flow and working capital to support operational needs.
• Forecast cash flow requirements and recommend strategies to optimise liquidity.

Cost Management:

• Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Monitor and evaluate financial performance against benchmarks and industry standards.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and mentor finance staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Strategic Support:

• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with Tibu Health’s objectives.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and development.

Tax

• Manage the monthly tax obligations
• Coordinate with an external tax consultant for income tax computation.

Annual Audit 

• Coordinate the annual audit process as necessary; liaise with external auditors as necessary.
• Support the annual financial statement audit by compiling the required audit schedules and documentation required.

Payroll

• Executing payroll and ensuring statutory compliance.
• Additional finance duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Finance Manager.
• Experience in managing finances in a healthcare organisation preferred.
• Over 5 years of combined accounting and finance experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• CPA or ACCA certification preferred.
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
• Proven ability to prepare financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Experience working in the insurance or claims management sector is an added advantage.
• Proficient in accounting software and administrative tasks.

Care and Coordination

• Deliver in person healthcare services as required in the organization for TIBU Health Clients, including but not limited to consultation, triage, wellness services, vaccination, physical examinations, prescriptions as clinically indicated
• Interpret Lab results, Diagnose and give TIBU Health clients feedback, health education and advice on health matters as per Ministry of Health and International guidelines, as adapted by TIBU health
• Carry out phlebotomy, sample collection and rapid diagnostic testing as clinically indicated
• Ensure that excellent customer service is delivered to patients through excellent communication, timely treatment plans and patient referral and professional care.
• Efficiently collaborate with logistics team during deployment for healthcare services as required.
• Developing schedules that ensure all patients are followed up at the scheduled date and time as per clinical guidelines.
• May be called upon to deliver healthcare services through virtual care consultations

Quality

Roles and responsibilities

Service delivery and quality management

• Overall implementation lead in the delivery of care across the channels of service delivery for TIBU health. 
• Oversight of the day-to-day activities in each of the channels of service delivery. 
• Determine adequate staffing levels across the channels of service delivery and implement an efficient scheduling mechanism.
• Collaborating internally to ensure the efficient use, allocation, and deployment of human resources to deliver services as required by TIBU Health clients. 
• Ensure seamless patient experience across the service delivery channels.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory boards and government across channels of service delivery including but not limited to valid staff licenses and board licenses.
• Manage clinical incidents and risks by supporting the Quality Assurance Manager on all root cause analysis meetings and participate in the formulation of corrective and preventive actions for any clinical incidents and risks identified.
• Support in the implementation of a quality improvement plan as advised by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Reporting and analytics

• Develop clinical metrics to audit and measure the performance of the service delivery team of TIBU Health according to international guidelines, including but not limited to health outcomes.

• Ensure consistent reporting to and compliance with the Ministry of Health and regulatory bodies on relevant data as required.

Budgeting and procurement

• Develop the annual and quarterly budgets for each of the service delivery channels and logistics for review and approval by the CMO.
• Ensure rational management of costs across the channels of service delivery.

Team management and capacity building

• Work with the CMO to define human resources needs for the service delivery channels and logistics team, define the scope of work, and support recruitment and onboarding.
• Conduct regular performance reviews for the service delivery channel teams and logistics team.
• Co-develop with other team leads and maintain the onboarding manual for team members joining the medical department.
• Lead on capacity building of the clinical care implementation team by developing and executing a CME calendar based on a multidisciplinary needs assessment

Innovation

• Work with the CMO to collaboratively coordinate, operationalize, and grow innovative pilot programs across the channels of service delivery, for example, Wellness, Chronic Disease Management plans, and primary care.

Logistics Operations

• Responsible for providing logistics support across all channels of service delivery (home/office, virtual, clinic hub) to TIBU Health Clients as required in the scheduling continuum for services, including and not limited to wellness, vaccinations, sample collection, and medical consultations.
• Follow up on a patient service delivery cycle to ensure the service is delivered from start to finish.
• Assist and resolve logistics-related inquiries and/or problems, and provide support to customer experience, clinic hub, virtual, and home/office care teams.
• Point of liaison and communication for clinic partners and internal and external laboratories.
• Ensure that excellent customer service is delivered to patients through excellent communication.
• Planning and deploying the movement of healthcare workers (HCWs) and courier officers in field and clinic operations through TIBU Health tech platforms and other relevant 3rd party channels to ensure effective healthcare service delivery.
• Ensure Tibu Health drivers’ and riders’ deployments are done efficiently and cost-effectively. 
• Ensure clinic partners are provided with status updates on report turnaround time, test outsourcing, and delays where applicable.

• Coordinate with the procurement department for biweekly kit-bag supplies. Supervise HCWs to ensure the kit-bag standards are adhered to.

• Ensure that all teams deploying for service delivery of TIBU Health Clients have the right tools and quantity for tasks allocated to them.

Your profile

We are looking for an autonomous, self-driven Senior Medical Officer who will work as part of the Medical Team to ensure continued excellence in the delivery of Healthcare services by TIBU Health. We are looking for someone who can identify new and relevant ideas & solutions and work on their integration into our business model. 

You should be able to lead clinical programs developed by our medical team. This would involve developing clinical offerings and regimens for patients, businesses, and insurers. They should be able to build the standard operating procedures for delivering healthcare services within the Clinical program. Will work closely with the CMO/COO to ensure services are delivered according to best practices and establish appropriate patient follow-up mechanisms. You will assist in recruiting and coordinating employees within relevant clinical programs and make relevant adjustments to the program to ensure the best patient experience in Africa.

Roles and responsibilities

Management:

1. Lead the growth and development of assigned/ relevant clinical programs.
2. Develop the standard operating procedures for the execution of services within the relevant clinical program.
