Role Purpose

Main Responsibilities

Strategy

Academic Background & Relevant Qualifications

Job Purpose:

JOB PURPOSE:

• The jobholder is responsible for controlling and reducing the cost of motor vehicle repairs while maintaining high quality work, managing claims service provider relationships to ensure TAT & SLAs are met in accordance with the Company's Claims guidelines.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Ensure all motor accidents are assessed within the stipulated timelines. Ensure repair estimates are at reasonable cost and during the repair works monitor to ensure work done is as per company high standard to client's satisfaction.
• To scrutinize all assessment reports submitted by the assessors and recommend the next cause of action.
• To negotiate with the repairers for discounts aimed at lowering overall repair costs.
• Undertaking re-inspection of all motor vehicles after repairs are concluded by the garages to ensure quality standards are achieved per the Company guidelines.
• Recommend investigation of claim cases that present high-risk exposure to the Company.
• Undertake a thorough evaluation and calculation of pre-accident/pre-theft value of motor vehicles to ascertain accuracy of values to curb cost escalation
• Monitor and review costs incurred in motor claims regarding towing and windscreen reinstatements
• To monitor and ensure all assessors and investigators conduct themselves professionally and ethically and make recommendations where action is warranted.
• To carry out random checks on garages to ensure that they maintain professionalism, Integrity and meet the standards of our customers, make recommendations where action is warranted.
• To guide and advise on the best prices for disposing of the salvages during auction.

The purpose of the job is to drive new business sales targets through Direct, Broker, Bancassurance and Affinity channels. The role works with Pension Administrators, Brokers, Banks, Affinities and Independent Agencies as well as direct clients, through relationship building.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

YOUR JOB

As an Intake Senior Supervisor, you will take up a management position. You will be responsible for managing the Back-end Intake area of our Provider Services Organization (PSO). This area will count with 3 teams sitting in Nairobi and supported by 3 Intake Supervisors and 1 SME, responsible for circa 55 FTE.

Your role will be broader than the day-to-day management of the intake operations. Together with your peers in Nairobi and Kuala Lumpur you will lead the Provider Intake strategy expanding it not only to claims intake but also low balancing data intake from different provider interactions. Job Summary

To support the Underwriting Manager in General Non medical Business by providing operational support in the underwriting processes. Act as the point of contact/reference for the underwriting section in the face of the customer ensuring end to end service management. Maintain a high degree of proficiency at all times with relevant stakeholders in order to deliver on the work outputs and ensure alignment to all laid down governance and control requirements through the process.

 Accountability: Operational Process Support

• Ensuring renewal notices with appropriate terms are sent 60 days to renewal.
• Policy document issuance within stipulated TAT.
• Assist claims department by providing the required documents and details immediately
• Approve and manage major quotations
• Ensure retention of existing accounts
• Assist in credit control
• Overseeing retention portfolio in line with business strategy.
• Controlling loss by assessing risk, conducting analysis and recommending policy solutions
•  Identifying portfolio risks resulting from client’s underlying business practices, underwriting investigations or fraud exposure.
•  Coordinating with internal stakeholders to initiate marketing strategies and meet market penetration and business growth objectives.
•  Supporting review, acceptance or denial of new or renewal business after carefully reviewing all information.
•  Proactively address escalated customer issues.
• Driving growth through collaborative engagements with various distribution channels, insurance brokers, agents, banc assurance with enhanced service accessibility & client reach.
• Meeting with customers, agents and brokers to negotiate coverage, price and service delivery.
• Calculating group and individual renewal rates based on customers’ background, industry and demographic information.
• Providing high level of assistance to help with review, classification, and rating of applications.
• Offering friendly and efficient service to customers, handling challenging situations with ease

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance or business-related field
• Progress in Insurance Professional Qualification or Actuarial
• At least 3 years’ experience in underwriting

Education

Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC): Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)

Responsibilities:

• Addition and update of products into the system
• Collaborates with the Legal and Compliance Officer and Insurance product specialist on product and regulation compliance
• Providing data-backed and actionable updates to leadership to improve order fulfilment SLAs
• Effective claims processing
• Define process after valuation to adjustment the premiums
• Track metrics such as issuance times, error rates to improve the process
• Provide / Offer training for CX , OS and more primarily agents to improve stakeholder relations and offer long time value
• Timely and Accurate Declarations to Underwriters-Motor
• Ensure  up to date and Sufficient stocks for Inventory

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional qualification in Insurance or demonstrate significant progress towards its attainment.
• Relevant experience working in the insurance industry in claims,underwriting or a similar role.
• Sound knowledge of insurance, regulatory requirements and processes.
•  Strong attention to detail to ensure the accurate collection of information and entry into databases.
