Reporting to the Chief Audiovisual Officer, the Senior Audiovisual Officer will be responsible for executing and supporting all audiovisual operations for Studio and Outside Broadcast (OB) productions, ensuring high-quality outputs in video, audio, and photography. The Senior Audiovisual Officer is responsible for technical setup, equipment maintenance, video editing, and photography while meeting production objectives and adhering to quality standards.
Responsibilities:

Technical Operations/Directing

  • Set up and operate audiovisual equipment for studio and OB productions, including cameras, lighting, audio systems, and vision mixers.
  • Ensure smooth execution of live and recorded productions, addressing any technical issues promptly.

Videography and Photography

  • Capture high-quality video footage and still images to support production requirements.
  • Edit video content to produce engaging, professional outputs for broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with production teams to align content with creative briefs and quality standards.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform routine maintenance on audiovisual equipment, ensuring optimal performance during productions.
  • Identify and report equipment faults, coordinating repairs or replacements with the Chief Audiovisual Officer.

Content Preparation

  • Prepare media files for production use, including formatting, ingesting, and organizing content.
  • Conduct quality checks on all content to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.

Collaboration and Support

  • Work closely with the Chief Audiovisual Officer and production teams to meet project deadlines and technical goals.
  • Provide on-site technical support during live events and external broadcasts.

Training, Mentorship, and Skill Development

  • Conduct structured training sessions and hands-on workshops to enhance audiovisual skills and industry readiness.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to students, junior team members, and entrepreneurs in audiovisual production.
  • Support entrepreneurial empowerment by aligning training initiatives with industry trends and business growth opportunities.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular checks to ensure all audiovisual operations meet organizational and client standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of workflows, equipment usage, and production outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or Diploma in Media Technology, Film, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in audiovisual operations, including studio and OB productions.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining audiovisual equipment, including cameras, audio systems, and lighting rigs.
  • Expertise in video editing software and photography tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
