PURPOSE
The general purpose of the internship program is to provide learning opportunities to young Kenyan graduates while creating a pool of employable persons for both short- and long-term humanitarian aid and development-related careers.
The internship programme applies to graduates who have completed studies in the relevant field of study within the last two years and willing to commit to the program for six months.
The Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) Intern will be part of the SBC team. Their main role is to support implementation of SBC activities with close supervision and guidance from the Nawiri SBC team and County Departments health promotion, agriculture, and community health services to foster learning and development by the end of the internship period. Nawiri will provide a platform for on- job-training and mentorship by project staff, partners, communities, and county government departments.
Clear internship objectives will be developed at the beginning of the internship period, assessed, and monitored on a regular basis, and final appraisal conducted at the end of the internship period to ensure that the intern achieves their learning and development objectives.
ROLE
In close consultation with the Nawiri SBC Project Officers (PO) in each county and Nawiri consortium partners, the intern will learn while providing support to the implementation of planned health and nutrition activities. These will include:
