Duties and Responsibilities will entail:

  • Determining whether management and financial systems of Corporation’s and recipient Project implementing organizations (PIO) are adequate for efficient and prudent use of funds;
  • Reviewing and evaluating the Corporation’s accounting policies and administrative controls and report any significant weaknesses together with recommendations for improvement;
  • Assisting in the usage of Corporation’s funds as per approved work plans and budgets in relation to the agreements between the Government of Kenya and various donors;
  • Advising on possible improvements and/or corrective measures in any areas of weakness noted;
  • Reviewing and developing action plans from the audit reports (internal and external for follow up);
  • Assisting in developing and reviewing of Corporation’s audit manuals;
  • Providing Guidance to Management on issues pertaining to Integrity and Ethics;
  • Monitoring and Evaluating the Corporation’s Integrity & Ethics activities;
  • Conducting Corruption Risk Analysis and advising Management on necessary interventions;
  • Participating in the Corporation’s Corruption Prevention/Integrity Committee Meetings;

Job Specification

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • At least eight (8) years’ work experience, three (3) years of which must have been in supervisory role;
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, Pure Sciences, Applied Sciences and Social Sciences or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Master’s degree in business, Commerce, Pure Sciences, Applied Sciences and Social Sciences or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (C.I.S.A) from a recognized institution;
  • Member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK) or its equivalent professional body in good standing;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya;
