Basic Function of the Position
The Economic Assistant/Self-Help Coordinator works together with the Small Grants/Economic Assistant (LES) under the supervision of the USDH Economic Officer/Grants Officer to administer the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help grants program, and any other Department grant programs that may be allocated to the Economic Section. The Economic Assistant is also responsible for information gathering and analytical reporting on a range of economic issues including: science and technology, digital innovation and cyber security, intellectual property rights, trade and investment, and anti-corruption programs. Must be able to obtain and hold a Secret security clearance for handling classified information. Supervised by Economic USDH.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Secondary School plus seven years of work experience in business, program management and/or analyzing economic developments is required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Two years of college or university studies (no specific field required) plus five years of work experience in business, program management and/or analyzing economic developments is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of Kenya’s economy and business environment.
