Role Overview Summary

Role Overview Summary

• To lead the implementation and successful delivery of VSO’s interventions on the Intersectionality SRHR Advocacy project over a 1-year period in line with the donor (Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and VSO guidelines.

Objectives of the assignment:

• Organic Waste Markets, Products, and Customers
• VSO Organic Waste Intervention Strategy

Deliverables:

• Production of market evaluation report evaluating the market potential for organic waste products, considering factors such as demand, competition, pricing, market trends, market dynamics, and consumer preferences, aiming to identify opportunities for product development and market penetration.
• Product identification and scoping report detailing scope of products derived from organic waste, with a particular emphasis on three clusters: organic manure, animal feeds, and compost-based soil amendments. With clear recommendations on the feasibility and market demand for these products in the three W2W Counties.
• Documentation on standards, regulations, and policies for organic waste management outlining the current standards, regulations, and policies related to organic waste management in the three target W2W Counties. Including recommendations for W2W primary actors on how to comply with existing standards and influence policies.
• Development of W2W Organic Waste Strategy with workable solutions and indicators to measure impact, strategies to build markets, and partnerships.  
• Development of a comprehensive training manual and conducting Training of Trainers program for implementing project team to enhance their capacity in organic waste management.

• A degree in waste management, environmental science, in agricultural engineering, agronomy or relevant degree

The Global Safeguarding Manager will support the management of safeguarding across VSO globally. 

• The role holder will provide guidance on safeguarding practice contextually for the locations VSO is currently implementing work. S/He will be responsible for incident and crisis management response acting on the matter on hand and provide support as needed, and also cull learning and action points following the incidences. S/He will develop safeguarding training curriculum and provide training on safeguarding and duty of care. S/He will also be responsible in case monitoring, documenting and registering of cases.
• The ideal candidate combines strong technical experience in safeguarding incident management with a track record of safeguarding assessment for proposal development. The candidate has working experience with different teams in an international environment and is available per February or as soon as possible for 6 months.

Job/Role Purpose: To ensure VSO is able to generate increased income from public fundraising by ensuring we have the capability to generate actionable insights from supporter communication.

Task Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver dashboards using PowerBI to visualize business performance, including attrition, communications and supporter journey evaluations, trend reporting and supporter profile reports.
• Design and automate enhancements to existing dashboards.
• Aid in the design of segmentations, propensity models, Lifetime value calculations, the measurement of supporter engagement and similar, undertaking statistical analysis as appropriate and developing automated implementations.
• Produce time critical operational sales and attrition reports for Public Fundraising.
• Proactively communicate and share insights with internal and external stakeholders to ensure key findings are understood, meaningful and valued.
• Promote the use of analysis in aiding decision making.
• Develop and implement robust procedures and documentation that ensure business continuity.
• Support the Database Manager, and the team more widely, to ensure that our data architecture is fit for purpose in delivering robust insight.and in improving data quality.
• Effectively lead, motivate and train other members of the Data & Insight team (and other stakeholders) in building reporting and analysis skills.

Competence required

Essential:

• Experience of developing PowerBI reports from scratch.
• Substantial knowledge of database/ CRM / CDB systems such as Raiser's Edge, Apteco Marketing Suite and Salesforce.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex analysis to non-technical colleagues.
