Qualification

Must have:

• A Master’s degree in a relevant area (Marketing/Public Relations/Mass Communication) from an accredited institution.
• Must have at least 3 years’ experience as a Public/Customer Relations Officer/Marketing Officer or a comparable position.

 Duties and responsibilities:

• Ensuring that all calls to the Campus are dealt with promptly, in line with the University’s standards and targets.
• Having full knowledge and ability to access all services to help meet the individual needs of our customers.
• Liaising with colleagues in relevant offices so as to resolve inquiries appropriately.
• Ensuring that customers are advised of alternative communication methods.
• Following current procedures when transferring a call to another member of staff for specialist advice.
• Taking ownership and responsibility for all inquiries presented to the Campus
• Dealing with all calls and enquiries received within the Campus in line with the University’s policies and procedures.

SCHOOL OF LAW – THREE (3) POSITIONS in the following specializations; 

• International Human Rights and Democracy
• International Development Law
• International Energy Law

Qualification

Must have:

• PhD degree in Law from an Accredited University
• At least 3 years of University teaching experience

OR

• Master’s Degree in Law from an Accredited University
• At Least 7 Years of Teaching at a University, 4 of which should be as a Lecturer
• Must have Registered for a PhD in Law
• Must have at least 4 publications in credible and peer reviewed journals
• Successful supervision of at least 3 post graduate students to completion
• Evidence of attracting research funds and grants to support research initiatives or scholarly projects will be an added advantage
• Being a member of a professional body will be an added advantage.

Reporting to: Dean, School of Law

Duties and responsibilities:

• Teach postgraduate and or undergraduate students in the specific areas of specialization through design and delivery of high-quality engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops ensuring that course objectives are met
• Supervise postgraduate research: projects, dissertations, and thesis.
• Assess students’ overall performance and gauge the effectiveness of teaching and learning; through setting, moderating and marking program work. i.e. practical sessions and examinations and provide appropriate feedback to students.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Law curriculum, incorporating contemporary legal issues and developments to reflect current industry trends and academic standards
• Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students
• Conducting independent and collaborative research in one’s area of expertise, publishing and disseminating research results through publications, conferences and workshops to create and enhance knowledge
• Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall quality of teaching and research within the department and support other program leaders to manage the ongoing strategic development and implementation of academic programs
• Creating, maintaining and expanding linkages with industry practitioners, professional organizations to facilitate experiential learning opportunities for students.
• Identify sources of funding and grants to support research initiatives or scholarly projects
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

• Registered with relevant professional body where applicable.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Adherence to the teaching requirements as per the curriculum.
• Administration of Continuous Assessments Tests.
• Examination Setting, Administration & Marking

Must have:

• An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant area of specialization from a recognized/accredited university                                       
• Master’s degree in relevant discipline (for special cases outlined on MKU teaching staff appointments and promotions guidelines, 2020) with 3 years teaching/industry/research experience;
• Expected to have registered for a PhD degree in the relevant discipline.
• At least three (3) years teaching experience at university level and demonstrated hands on skills in software development and databases;
• At least 24 publication points of which 16 should be from refereed scholarly journals
• Be registered by the relevant Professional Body (where applicable)

Reporting to: Dean, Clinical Medicine

Qualification

Must have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Medicine or related area of specialization from a recognized Institution.
• Must be registered as Clinical Officer with Clinical Officers Council.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience at a comparable position.
• Must be Computer Literate.

OR

• Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine or related area of specialization from a recognized Institution.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience at a comparable position.
• Must be Computer Literate.

Key responsibilities also include

Reporting to: Director, Nairobi Campus

Duties and responsibilities:

• To examine, diagnose and treat patients’ common ailments at the University health facility
• To guide and counsel patients, clients and staff on Health issues
• To sensitize patients and clients on preventive health
• To carry out minor surgical procedures as per training skill
• To collect and compile clinical data
• To filter and refer patients and clients to appropriate health facilities.
• Supervises/oversees junior health workers.
• Examine, diagnose and treat patients in the University clinics
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

• Must be registered with Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience at a comparable position.
• Must be Computer Literate.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Reporting to: Dean, School of Nursing

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assisting the chief technologist in day-to-day activities of the laboratory.
• Provide support in teaching and assessing courses in the nursing discipline at undergraduate level.
• Supervising practical conduction technologists and ensuring that they are of quality.
• Liaising with the directorate of teaching programs and the relevant department to ensure that practical conduction and their monitoring is done.
• Liaising with academic staff to discuss timetables, equipment requirements and work plans.
• Running trials of experiments prior to practical sessions and then demonstrating techniques for experiments.
• Preparing equipment and chemicals before practical sessions.
• Maintaining /being the custodian of equipment and laboratory apparatus in the assigned laboratory(ies).
• Reporting failure /breakdown of the equipment to the chief technologist
• Record keeping, e.g., student’s practical sessions, tracking methods results, etc.
• Ensuring that the laboratories are properly cleaned and that chemicals, drugs and other materials are appropriately stored.
• Cataloguing records and making them available when requested.
• Supporting the work of lecturers in laboratory sessions and giving technical advice to staff and students.
• Working with students and supporting them on research projects.
• Managing the stock control of chemicals and equipment.
• Contributing to research.
• Ensuring that all health and safety procedures are understood and followed correctly.
• Coordinating work in the laboratory to ensure efficient use is made of expensive pieces of equipment.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies by cleaning maintaining quality assurance.
• Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the laboratory and equipment.
• Maintaining a clean sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice.
• Keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reality.
• Maintaining the catalogue of all equipment and their movement.
• Ensuring regular and scheduled maintenance log of equipment including their repair calibration.
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
