Job Description

• Within our entity Lesaffre Kenya, you areresponsible for Supply Chain & procurement activities in compliance with the local legislation, the Lesaffre Group guidelines and the MEA (Middle East & Africa) Region Sales strategy.
• You will actively participate in optimizing logistics flows (internal/external) in term of time and costs. You manage all activities related to the supply, reception, conversion/processing and logistics of raw materials, packaging and finished products, warehousing, including the clients’ deliveries (local and exports), the coordination and collaboration with suppliers and transport companies.
• You oversee the supply chain team with two direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
Purchasing:
You deploy Lesaffre Kenya Purchasing Strategy aligned with Group & Regional Strategy.You are responsible of all categories of purchase including energy, raw materials, packaging, transport, services, investments & spare parts.

• Making the yearly procurement plan for the top 10 materials in coordination with Regional Purchasing department.
• Responsible of all the “Source to Contract” and “Procure to Pay” Process.
• Carrying outevaluation processes for new supplier.
• Conducting supplier research for the purchase request until negotiating prices and submission ofthe supplier selected for approval
• Communicatingwith suppliers to secure price quotations, technical specifications and relevant details
• Sending relevant order form, contract, protocol progress form, etc. to the selected supplier until approval of the final contract
• Carrying out the necessary follow-up and controls to ensure that orders are met on time and with the desired quality.
• Supporting supplier audits carried out by the quality unit
• Ensuring that all requireddocuments are delivered to the accounting team on time
• Identifying potential savings in all purchasing categories
• Coordinatingwith the departments involved the technical aspects of supplier approval, especially in the aspects of food safety, safety at work, traceabilityetc.
• Maintaining the suppliers database

Supply Chain:

• Consolidatingand followingup the safety stock levels, reviewingout of stock situations or shortage of supply issues and recommending mitigating actions
• Conducting root cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances and definingcorrective action plans
• Providingrecommendations to improve OTIF and inventory.
• Supporting demand planning monthly meetings with the general manager
• Bridgingcommunication with Banks and insurance companies to process import of any item
• Processing invoices and obtaining all custom documents.
• Ensuring thatgoods loading and transportation are properly managed
• Following up documents are distributed to relevantgovernment agencies on time
• Liaising withshipping agents in line with necessity and global tender scope
• Identifyingpotential savings in raw materials, storage, shipping and logistics
• Quarterly reviewing of routes to optimize costs and better serve customers
• Follow the whole clearance process with customs and related authorities.

Warehousing:

• Reconcilingthe supplier goods received notes to our purchase orders
• Evaluatingstock levels and warehouse occupancy levels
• Coordinatingmonthly stock counts of all inventories

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain, or International trade, or Business Administration with an experience of 10 years in Supply Chain / Procurement in an international environment.
• Basic knowledge of SAGE system, master Office 365
• Strong knowledge of the local authorities’ process (KRA, KEBS, etc)

Job Description

• Reporting to Lesaffre Kenya Manager, you will optimize the technical design of formulas and their economics while benefiting from the expert poles support of the Lesaffre group and the East Africa territory.

Key Responsabilities : 

• Active support for customers to identify, understand and respond to their needs
• Contribute to understanding market expectations, particularly by carrying out competitive intelligence
• Designing new products through ingredient formulation meeting clients’ expectations and operational constraints
• Development of new products with the support of our Baking Center teams (baking and sensory experts)
• Identification and sourcing of new raw materials offering the best value for money regarding functionality, regulatory compliance and sustainability
• Assist the production, purchasing and quality teams on a daily basis and in referencing new ingredients or suppliers
• Collaborate with other Baking Center teams of the MEA region, supported by the corporate R&D “Baking Science”

Qualifications

• We are in search of a highly capable individual who holds a diploma in food science, ideally specializing in the grain industry.
• If you have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role within the bread-making sector, especially on an international scale, we would like to hear from you.

• Reporting to the production manager, you will oversee the safety, health environment, and quality assurance side of Lesaffre Kenya.
• You will develop, manage, supervise, and coordinate work systems to ensure that the production and services of the company meet  Lesaffre Group safety and quality standards
• You will report and document all instances of non-compliance.

Key responsibilities :

HEALTH & SAFETY

• Incident management, investigation and documentation
• Managing the implementation and Sustenance of Management Systems
• Managing the maintenance of the legal register through engagement of local authorities (KEBS, DOSH, NEMA, and County Government) on permits, licenses and analysis reporting.
• Serve as the management representative to communicate all requirements and any changes of management systems.
• Ensure required standards of health and safety are always maintained in the company premises.
• Monitor compliance with LK safety requirements through effective management of plant maintenance/monitoring, emergency responses, product stewardship, Permit To Work.

QUALITY

Control

• Perform the quality control tests on raw materials, environment, final product according to the control plan.
• Readjust with production, after validation with the formulator.

Assurance

• Follow- up on calibration schedules of machines and equipment with the production responsible and in the laboratory.
• Act as a custodian of the organisation management systems - related documented and retained information.
• Act as a liaison between LK and certification bodies, regulatory bodies, other interested parties in matters related to certification audits, statutory audits/inspections and customer audits.
• Perform daily field presence to ensure hygiene, food safety and quality standards are met.
• Participate in a validation of new raw  materials/packaging supplier.
• Assist to handle all requests about non-conformities and deviations from suppliers.
• Manage consumer/customer complaint and customer satisfaction program.
• Establish corrective action plans and enforce implementation to reduce the number of customer and consumer complaints.
• Perform supplier audits
• Perform internal quality audits

MANAGEMENT 

• Represent LK in sector bodies and technical committees KEPSA, KAM, KEBS, NEMA, DOSH etc
• Develop Quality and Food safety culture within the organisation, with training and awareness.

REPORTING

• Daily record & report to line manager every occurrence of quality control deviations or any remarkable event.
• Identify issues and submit reports to the line manager on performance and progress.
• Monthly report to functional Africa Quality Manager and whenever it’s necessary.

Qualifications

• After a bachelor's degree in food processing or agro-industrial technology, you worked 2 to 5 years in production/industry, which gave you extensive knowledge of quality management and food safety including preparation, handling, and storage of food.

Job Description

• Lesaffre Kenya is a recent entity created within the Group. Reporting to the Area Sales Manager, you will contribute to sales development of yeast, baking ingredients, bread improvers and to optimize the profit margin.

Market Knowledge:

• Establish a data base of clients and potential clients: Craft Bakeries & Industrial Accounts
• Get to know the potential of each of the 2 segments and the main competitors market shares
• Sell directly to the identified accounts, provide support for the distributors sales forces and evaluate their performance
• Visit yeast and ingredients users regularly to identify needs and any potential problems.
• Identify new bakeries opening and anticipate their needs
• Competitive intelligence: know the competitor products, their prices and identify new products.
• Master the technical characteristics of Lesaffre product range in collaboration with our Area Master Baker.

Commercial Development:

• Participate in building a better market readability and a good commercial responsiveness 
• Identify the customers technical support needs, share them to the area manager and to the Master Baker, and follow up the evolution of assistance missions
• Reach the targets defined with the Area Manager and share the challenges faced
• Use the sales support tools to upgrade your sales approach
• Canvass every day the new bakeries and share the digits
• Direct the new customers to the right products, capable of providing the best service
• Guarantee Lesaffre products quality image on your market
• Report & Follow-up the clients claims and make sure to deliver a reply within a reasonable time frame.

Reporting:

• Share weekly visit checklist and establish a formal monthly report
• Regularly update data base on the CRM software

Qualifications

• With a business background, you have field experience as a commercial supervisor or zone manager for at least 5 years.
• Knowledge of the BtoB Bakery segment (Craft and industrials)
• Autonomy and able to work at distance
• Transparency and integrity
• Human relation skills, diplomacy, good listener, field person
• Ability to analyse and summarise
• Toughness, taste for challenge and negotiation
• English / Swahili languages

Main duties:
 

Reporting to Lesaffre Kenya Manager, and functionally to the Regional Finance Director, you will:
 

• Carry out the financial processes and the internal controlling of the entity
• Participate in the preparation, review, control of the monthly / annual closing in coordination with the local accounting company
• Carry out the IFRS reporting in the group tools and formalize a monthly reporting to the MEA region
• Be Sage administrator
• Product dashboards to follow up the activity of the entity
• Ensure, in collaboration with the accounting company, of the right social and tax declarations
• Participate in building the forecast and budget of the entity (including the HR part)
• Write processes and make ad hoc studies: production costs analysis, margin analysis, forecast based on corrected budget…
• Define and implement an action plan for the improvement of the working capital requirement, follow up of the payments (suppliers, clients)
• Follow up the cashflow plan of the entity. Work together with trade finance manager Africa if needed.
• Lead the payments processes (payroll, suppliers etc.) and the collection process in coordination with the sales team
• Participate to the Expenses notes process. Collect the sheet/receipt. Check the figures. Reimburse the staff.
• HR admin tasks in coordination with the HR Manager: carry out the payroll (with the support of the accounting company), prepare the employment contracts, register the employee on the medical insurance, organize mandatory medical examinations, make the headcount reporting
• Be Lesaffre Kenya IT contact. Working closer with local IT Service provider and group IT

Qualifications

• Graduated in Business Administration or Finance, you have at least 10 years of experience in finance
• You master Office 365
• Experience with Sage is preferred
• Your communication skills, your rigor, your attention to details, your autonomy, your sense of confidentiality and your analytical skills will be necessary to achieve your duties.
