Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings for the construction of parking areas and low-rise structures associated with EV charging stations, including site layouts, grading plans, drainage systems, foundation designs, and structural details.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, specifications, drawings, calculations (structural, hydraulic, etc.), risk assessments, method statements, bid documents, and proposals related to the civil works for charging infrastructure projects.
• Undertake site inspections, examinations, and scoping visits with clients, sometimes requiring work outside of standard business hours to accommodate site access and project needs.
• Strategically assess and prioritize new sites and partnerships for efficient charging network expansion throughout Kenya.
• Effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, both technical and non-technical, including clients, contractors, and internal team members.
• Maintain a good understanding of relevant industry standards, Codes of Practice, and current design methods related to civil engineering and construction.
• Liaise with external clients and internal stakeholders and attend project meetings regarding charging infrastructure development.
• Work closely with Electrical Engineers to optimize the design and functionality of charging stations, ensuring seamless integration of civil and electrical components.

Other Requirements

Program Overview

The BasiGo Manufacturing Development Program is an entry-level rotational program within the Manufacturing team, offering a comprehensive learning experience across various aspects of electric vehicle manufacturing. The program aims to provide interns with hands-on experience and exposure to different stages of the manufacturing process, enabling them to develop a deep understanding of EV manufacturing techniques and practices over a 6-month period.

Program Structure

Participants will undergo rotations across key manufacturing processes, allowing them to gain proficiency in each area. The rotational structure includes exposure to the following core processes:

• Chassis Assembly: Hands-on experience with chassis processes.
• Body Assembly: Practical knowledge of body fabrication techniques.
• Paint: Exposure to the vehicle paint preparation and application process.
• Trim Assembly: Understanding of interior and exterior trim components and installation, including HV and LV electrical systems.
• Quality Control: Training in in-bond, out-bound and in-line quality control processes.
• Data Analytics: Gathering critical production data, defining key performance metrics, and developing interactive dashboards for real-time insights.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Flutter Mobile Engineer with a strong background in Flutter for front-end development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building high-quality and scalable mobile app solutions. This role will involve leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the development of best practices and standards across the engineering team.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and reliable software systems architectures.
• Develop a suite of software applications for data acquisition, customer management, customer reporting and payments, and operations management.
• Design and implement reliable cloud-based architectures (e.g. AWS or similar solutions)

• Diagnoses and repairs electric bus transmission systems, steering, suspension, shafts, differentials and motors
• Performs brake system performance tests and diagnostics, relines brakes, and replaces valves, switches, hardware, slack adjusters and other foundation brake parts and components.
• Repairs motor and battery cooling system and components including replacing radiators, cooling fan, hydraulic fan drive system components, thermostats, water pumps, belts, hoses and other related cooling system components.
• Diagnoses irregular tire wear patterns and determines cause, repairs tires, including mounting new tires and the rotation of tire positions to maximize the service life of tires.
• Performs minor body work (i.e. repair and replacement of bumpers, panels, doors, hinges, and pneumatics).
• Identifies and reports any additional maintenance and/or repairs found necessary in conducting assigned repairs and maintenance including repairs and maintenance required to be performed by Engineers with a higher qualification level
• Suggest methods, processes, and tools to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of BasiGo’s service.

About the Role

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Under minimal supervision,

• Generate  work orders for upcoming scheduled maintenance.
• Manage bus incident entries and assign corresponding work orders to individuals
• Make sure work orders are completed within stipulated time with all parts and labor correctly documented.
• Work closely with the service team to ensure there is adequate tooling, equipment and necessary service support items such as lights, PPE, and consumables
• Keep track of Bus odometer readings vs scheduled service and planning the order for the scheduled service.
• Work closely with the Operations Coordinator in setting a scheduled maintenance roster for E-buses and implementing the roster in a smooth manner.
• Create complete and accurate invoices to clients for billable service based completed work orders.
• Initiate and manage warranty claims with BasiGo suppliers
• Ensure quality service and maintenance standards are consistently met and documented.
• Ensure Work Orders for all planned and unplanned service are kept up to date throughout the process.
• Work with Service, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to manage any vehicle recall and refurbishment processes.
• Support the service team in customer communications regarding service and maintenance.
• Work with BasiGo finance team to clarify service cost tracking, warranty claims, and invoicing.
• Establishing procedures for documenting all completed tasks, deferred defects.
• Ensure Tools, Equipment and machinery are inspected, calibrated, serviced and replaced according to required schedules.
• Assess E-bus service and Maintenance procedures and making recommendations for improvement.
• Act as a liaison between Service, Stores, Operations, and Finance Departments

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum  3 years of work experience in automotive service or fleet operations
• Good academic record with strong foundation in computer skills
• Demonstrable technical skills working easily with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other online collaboration tools.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and systems
• Knowledge of basic vehicle systems and parts is a must
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good command of spoken English and Kiswahili. Technical language is a must
• Ability to quickly and accurately clean and analyze data in spreadsheets.
• Proactive coordination and multi tasking skills.
• .Able to work flexible hours  as the role will require some amount of night shift work.

The Product Manager will own the charging user experience, manage charging partnerships, define product specifications, and operationalization of digital tools to meet BasiGo’s mission and business objectives. The role requires a versatile, digital product leader with skills that span systems engineering, product marketing, finance, and data analysis. Most importantly, it requires an independent, entrepreneurial thinker who can jump seamlessly between strategy and implementation, who understands the dynamic EV and energy storage value chains, and who knows how African transport and energy markets work in order to build product and business models that can succeed.

Responsibilities:

• Integrate cross-functional input to design and manage a seamless and cohesive charging experience for all end users, including hardware and user interface specification, payment and data management, and sales and support processes.
• Maintain a deep understanding of trends and dynamics in electric vehicle charging, energy generation and management, and energy supply value chains.
• Research trends in EV adoption and deployment as well as charging customer needs and preferences in order to help BasiGo develop an industry leading EV charging service.
• Conduct market and industry research to develop and execute a data-driven pricing and network expansion strategy.
