Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for the management and marketing of fully Shariah compliant Banking products and services to Institutional Clients.
  • Responsible for setting of Custodial Services business, putting in place marketing strategy and execution of the same.
  • To provide leadership to a team of Relationship Managers in driving growth of liabilities and Non Funded (NFI) income from Financial Institutions, Insurance companies, public entities and other organizations and to ensure delivery of exceptional customer experience.
  • Responsible for the development of compelling value propositions for the Institutional Banking customers of the Bank.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Full implementation of the Institutional Banking annual Business Plan and Budgets,
  • Develop custodial business and position the Bank in the market as the preferred provider of custodial services
  • Develop and implement transactional business for Institutional and Corporate customers (Cash management, salary processing, collections and payments)
  • Put in place the relevant operational processes in conjunction with Operations, Risk & Compliance departments
  • Ensure adherence to the business operational policies and procedures with constant reviews across the team.

Business Development

  • Grow the bank’s liabilities and NFI in the Institutional banking sector,
  • Ensure there is retention of existing customers and generation of new business to ensure business continued growth,
  • Develop and rollout relevant Custodial Services, Growth of transactional banking business (cash management, salary processing, payments), growth in income
  • Continually identify business growth opportunities in line with the strategic direction for Institutional and Transactional Banking.

Operations/Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with both internal and external regulatory requirements, Developing and continuously reviewing business operational policies and procedures ensuring their compliance.
  • Keep abreast with the latest changes in regulatory guidelines and implementation of operational procedures and policies to ensure compliance with all guidelines.
  • Keep close watch on emergent market opportunities and set up rapid strategies to harness them.

Skills And Experience Required For This Role

  • Business graduate from an accredited University preferably with a major in Finance, Marketing and/or Economics. Additionally, a Post Graduate degree (e.g. MBA),
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Banking with wide exposure in Relationship Management, Business Development, Banking operations and at least 3 years at Management level, with a strong emphasis on providing financial solutions to Institutional/corporate clients.
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly & concisely-both orally and in writing,
  • Must possess sound knowledge of bank products and problem-solving techniques,
  • Possess public relationship skills in both formal and social gatherings in order to establish/maintain effective working relationship with those interacted with,
  • Possess excellent analytical skills, be open minded and able to identify alternative solutions and business opportunities,
