Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Playwright.

What you will do:
The Secondary Marketplace Department at Watu operates using a dealership model. It is responsible for the storage, refurbishment, refinancing and sale of second hand assets.

Team Management and leadership

• Work closely with HR team to identify and recruit the right talent to the team as per the HR defined company process
• Manage daily performance of the team while Providing feedback on areas of improvement and ensuring set KPIS and tasks are completed or achieved
• Training and development of team members in terms of their skill and use of tools required for the job
• Interact with other departments they call us including recovery Healthcare teams branch and regional teams
• Manage team welfare ensuring the team is in the right mental physical state and have the right equipments and tools to perform their duties

Process and projects

• Owner of process and routine compliance as per stated processes ensuring strict execution of defines routines and processes
• Receive assets at the warehouse correctly with the right documentation
• Check and monitor that assets are stored at the right zones and easily accessible
• Check and monitor that assets are assessed correctly by the mechanics
• Monitor that assets are released correctly to the right stakeholders in terms of sale,releases and transfer of assets
• Check that assets are tagged with the right pricing or color codes and discounts applied when required
• Maintain and monitor inventory accuracy in line with audits carried out and manage warehouse capacity ensuring enough stock balance vs capacity of the warehouse
• Daily queue management to ensure adherence to set SLAs working closely with other departments
• Check that required documents are collected ,stored and shared with the right stakeholders if required
• Provide insights and recommendations on process improvements
• Conceptualize and manage projects that improve efficiency and productivity of the team

Commercial

• Drive and manage sales of the warehouse as per the set baselines
• Innovate or improve ways to pushing sales of repossessed assets
• Manage projections to ensure enough stocks available to achieve sales targets
• B2B Sales management dealing with corporates,garages and bulk buyers

Administration

• Plan and implement the budgeting of the petty cash required to run the warehouse
• Manage and monitor health and safety standards are adhered to at the warehouse
• Liaise with relevant departments to ensure all bills and invoices are paid and documented properly
• Be the Custodian of all assets, office equipment and tools of trade managing losses and fraud
• Manage Stakeholders through upwards and downward communication and feedback
• Hold regular meetings with the direct and indirect reports to inform,motivate and sense check objectives and alignment

Issue resolution

• Resolve any issues escalated from clients escalated are resolved or escalated as per the escalation matrix set

People & Leadership

• Conduct mid- year performance appraisals, annual performance appraisals and monthly 1-1s as part of performance management cycle

What you will do:
As a Product Partnerships Manager (PPM), your role will be crucial in identifying, developing, and nurturing strategic alliances that drive growth and innovation for Watu. Your primary responsibility will be to identify, cultivate, and manage partnerships with external entities, such as fintech ecosystem partners, mobile operators, IoT platforms, as well as sourcing partners for product-driven customer referrals and rewards program fulfilment, among other strategic partners. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including product and system development to ensure that partnerships are effectively integrated and managed.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical record, a proven track record of developing and managing successful partnerships, a strategic mindset, a clear understanding of external API-driven product development, and the ability to think creatively to identify new opportunities. Responsibilities:

• Manage payment API integration projects across all key markets and monitor performance and key task delivery timelines
• Collaborate with existing payment partners to solve actual issues
• Maintain clear documentation of access credentials, implementation details, and troubleshooting guidelines of partner APIs that drive product features including payment processing partners, servicing channel partners (eg, WhatsApp, Infobib etc), and any other external parties that drive core product features
• Identify strategic partners, assess their alignment with our organisational goals, and evaluate the benefits of forming partnerships
• Create and maintain Watu’s strategic product partnerships engagement framework - including partner categories and tiers, prioritization, and engagement strategies with a focus on payments

What we are looking for:
Education level:

• Bachelor’s degree (Computer science degree preferred) from an accredited institution or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency

Experience:

• Proven experience, 5+ years, in the fintech, telco or equivalent with senior-level engagement and relationship building
• A minimum of 5 years’ management experience, having worked across technical, commercial, and customer-facing environments within the technology industry - particularly telcos and fintech

Role Purpose:

This role, in conjunction with the Accounting team, entails overseeing all the accounting processes and procedures, ensuring accuracy and completeness of books of accounts, reconciling balance sheet accounts including tax, overseeing both internal and external audits, and ensuring effective financial running and rigorous financial control management and process disciplines.

What you will do:
Monthly Book Closure

• Managing Watu Credit and small related entities accounting requirements in Nairobi and liaising with the Accounting team in month end close processes in accordance with timelines
• Follow up the strict adherence to EOM cut-off periods set by Group Finance
• Follow up to ensure maintenance of the General Ledger and that all balances are accurate and complete
• Take ownership of TB review, review, sign-off and completeness accuracy, including monthly/ Quarterly /Annual closure as per IAS & IFRS standards

Balance Sheet Reviews

• Drive review of Watu Credit and small related entities month-end balance sheet reconciliation files.
• Monitoring of daily/ weekly and monthly cash, Mpesa and bank reconciliations and prompt resolution of aged reconciling items
• Review of MIFOS extract of loans (principal and interest) issued to customers including aging, Identifying, formulating strategies to help drive collections and managing the Expected Credit Loss (ECL) model
• Ensure accuracy of additions, disposals and depreciation for tangible and intangible assets as well as overseeing the annual verification of company assets
• Ensure accuracy of Watu Trading motorcycles spares inventories and low-value assets including coordination of periodic stock counts to identify variances in any stock items
• Review of funding (lenders) balances including participating in regular meetings with investors/ lenders together with Head of Finance and Group Finance teams
• Oversee the completion of company assets insurance renewals every year and coordination of forwarding of insurance claims and following up on payment per SLA
• Reconciliation of other liabilities including suppliers, provisions & accruals, taxes, deferred income and RoU Lease Liability
• Responsible for ALL inter-company reconciliations

Audit Handling and Closure

• Coordinating accurate and prompt year-end financial closure and auditing for Watu Credit and small related entities with external auditors
• Review, preparation, and corporate governance compliance on Annual Audited Financial Statements for Watu Credit and small related entities
• Preparation of the Watu Credit Limited and small related entities annual audited accounts and ensure timely completion and sign-off of the audited accounts to facilitate group consolidation
• Preparation of Watu Credit and small related entities tax computations in conjunction with tax consultants

Governance and Controls
As pertains to Procedures, Processes and Quality Assurance:

• Develop and implement financial control policies and procedures around key areas like cash & receivables cycle/ petty cash, purchases and payables cycle etc.
• Identify and provide short to medium term tactical direction in ensuring financial processes are implemented
• Develop a review mechanism to ensure and measure compliance to relevant policies (Accounting policies, Shared services SLAs, Authorization matrix, etc.) 
• Continuous improvement of financial procedures and controls by ensuring processes and procedures in place are updated regularly
• Quality assurance of audit items by ensuring corrective action on any gaps on controls identified from internal audits are addressed
• Ensuring request for approvals (RFA) for Capital Expenditure are done in accordance with Procurement Authorization Matrix

ERP Systems

• Champion Financials module in MS Dynamics to ensure its 100% functional
• Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information
• Evaluate departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency
• Lead ERP functioning to ensure business financial and operational reporting, analyses and decision support systems are timely, accurate, error free and require minimum human input to avoid any governance risks

Team Management

• Overall collaboration with entire Kenya Finance team & Accounting team.

• Professional certification in CPA (K)/ ACCA or equivalent
• At least five (5) years of experience in Finance (preferable financial services industry) with exposure to both Audit (preferably Big4 firms) and Financial Accounting.

what you will do:

• Receive all Court summons and Demand Letters from the claimants and updating them on the Third Party cases worksheet
• File all documents corresponding to the specific Third party  claim 
• Analyzing all third party claims received and gauge if they qualify for Underwriter/legal department for action 
• Contact clients with reported third party Claims and guide them to fill claim documents and give written statements of the incident.
• Sending the scanned court summons or Demand letters with claim documents to the respective underwriters and legal officer via emails for their action once satisfied that claim documents have been duly filled correctly .
• Collecting accurate information and documents to proceed with the claim
• Advising client and providing any requirement and/pending documentation as required by the underwriters
• Obtain and update Claim Reference Numbers/appointed advocates from Underwriters and updating  the records 
• Monitor the progress of all Third party  cases and maintaining Constant communication with the clients updating them on status 
• Working closely with the legal department and Head of department to advocate for and protect the interest of the business

What you will do:

• Coordinate all recovery operations in the assigned territory as aligned with recovery targets
• Leverage on available data on territory performance as per all performance metrics to identify risk areas
• Advice on difficult repossession cases to support closure
• Maintain the Repossession List at acceptable level by ensuring that the Recovery Managers assign  the bikes to the relevant Recovery Offices without delay.
• Approve all  the recovery costs incurred during recovery and transfer of assets which will include Petty Cash and EER
• Attend to escalations to ensure Recovery Managers and Officers are fully supported in their recovery efforts
• Create a professional working relationship with both internal and external  stakeholders for the purpose of getting assistance when necessary, in the course of work
• Monitor the recovery budget vs actual on a monthly basis for the relevant area.
• Coordinate documentation management for assigned region to ensure full compliance with all relevant documentations policies and guidelines
• Monitor Territory compliance levels against all guidelines and policies to manage risks
• Coordinate people management processes in assigned territory which will include performance management, training, coaching, safety, and employee relations, in consultation and with support from HR
