Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree OR Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, or Broadcast Journalism from a recognized Institution
• Must be computer literate
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili
• Strong oral communication, writing, editing and analytical skills.

Minimum requirements:

• Drafting, report writing, planning and organisational skills.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree OR Diploma in Computer Science/Software Engineering/ Information Technlogy/Computer Programming/Web Development or Soft Ware Development.
• Practical skills in either Web Development, Software Development, Mobile App Development or Database Development
• Familiarity with social media platforms.

OR

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, Public Relations, Graphic Design or its equivalent from a recognized institution
• Good writing, blogging, editing, presentation and communication skills
• Familiarity with social media platforms.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree OR Diploma in Graphic design /3D Graphic design or its equivalent from a recognized institution
• Computer proficiency
• Creativity and innovativeness.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Science, Business Information Technology or any other related discipline from a recognized Institution
• Good knowledge of software/application development and programming.

Other requirements:

• Must be a Kenyan youth aged between 21 and 34 years
• Must have graduated from College / University not earlier than the year 2018
• Must attach copies of certificates, academic transcripts, updated curriculum vitae, national identity card or passport, alongside the application letter.

Upon succesful selection and intake, the interns will be required to submit the following documents:-

• Personal accident insurance cover for the entire period of internship
• Medical insurance cover by the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) or any other reputable medical insurance firm
• PIN certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority.
• NSSF card
• Valid certificate of good conduct from Directorate of Criminal Investigations
• Two coloured passport photographs
• Bank account details
• Recommendation/reference letter from the Institution attended.

The Corporation wishes to recruit dynamic, self-driven and results-oriented students from Universities and middle– level Colleges under KBC Industrial Attachment

Programme.
Duration of the Industrial Attachment:

• The Industrial Attachment Programme will run for three (3) months (January -March 2024) without extension.

Criteria for selection:

• Field of specialization and relevance of the course
• The Corporation’s ability to accommodate the trainee
• Availability of requisite facilities and attachment slots
• First come first served basis
• Year of study( 3rd & 4th year of study for degree students and 2nd year of study for Diploma students)

The Role:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director is responsible for providing direction and leadership in the implementation of strategic goals and objectives of the Corporation. He/She is responsible for overseeing the strategic, operational and financial performance of the Corporation. In addition, he/she will ensure effective and efficient management and administration of the Corporation.

Specific Terms:

• Three (3) years contract of employment renewable subject to good performance output.

Remuneration:

Key Responsibilities:

•  Provide leadership in the development of strategies, policies and guidelines to ensure achievement of the objectives of the Corporation.
•  Spearhead the provision of independent and impartial broadcasting services of information, education and entertainment in English, Kiswahili and any other languages as the Corporation may decide.
•  Facilitate the establishment, operation and control of production and transmission facilities, and services related thereto countrywide.
•  Ensure compliance with the Constitution of Kenya and all statutory, legal and regulatory requirements.
•  Oversee the development of mechanisms for the continuous improvement in the quality and value of products and services.
•  Responsible for commercialization of the corporation’s services and assets by embracing modern and innovative solutions for revenue generation and enhanced profitability.
•  Oversee the designing, implementation and review of financial management systems to ensure prudent utilization of funds.
•  Offer oversight in development of proper internal monitoring and control systems and procedures.
•  Ensure maintenance of a conducive work environment for attracting, retaining and motivating employees.
•  Provide regular, thorough, prompt and effective communication to the Board, Management and Staff on key strategic, technical, financial and administrative matters.
•  Ensure performance contracting, cascading and appraisal for all the Departments to meet performance targets.

Minimum Requirements:

Educational and Professional Requirements

•  Masters degree in any of the following fields:- Media Studies, Communication, Marketing, Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, Engineering, Strategic Management, Project Management or its equivalent from a recognized University
•  Bachelor’s degree in any of the fields listed above from a recognized University
•  Must be a member of a relevant professional body in the area of specialization
•  Strategic Leadership, Senior Management or Corporate Governance training from a recognized training institution will be an added advantage
•  PhD will be an added advantage.

Minimum Experience

•  Must have at least ten (10) years working experience in a comparable organization in the public or private sector
•  Must have served at a senior managerial position in the media or broadcasting industry for at least five (5) years
•  Experience in working or interacting with a Board
