These are your qualifications

• You bring with you a strong experience in global talent acquisition / recruitment, especially in the global south and multi countries contexts
• You have a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Sales or any other related field
• A previous experience in a matrix organization context and managing numerous stakeholders is strongly wished
• Digital affine, you have already worked with (several) applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software tools and can adapt quickly to new tools after short training

Job Overview And Core Purpose

• The Mental Health Project Manager will manage the day-to-day work of CBM Global’s overall contribution to the Africa Mental Health Leadership programme (AMHLP). This will include the coordination of project activities, supervision and support of the two regional coordinators (for West and Southern Africa), collaboration with key stakeholders, and liaison with the back donor, fund manager and sub-contractor (the Mental Health Innovation Network).

Responsibilities and Duties  

Development of peer networks for leadership course graduates

• Oversee the work being undertaken by the Mental Health Innovation Network (MHIN) to build peer networks at regional level in Africa for graduates from the fellowships and courses offered by Africa CDC, the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) and other partners in this programme. These peer networks will offer news sharing, regular webinars, gathering and sharing of useful resources, and promotion of collaboration. 

Promoting understanding of the needs of civil society working in mental health in Africa, including organisations of persons with psychosocial disabilities. 

• Oversee the work of MHIN in mapping relevant CSOs across Africa, to understand CSO’s needs, priorities and aims. MHIN will promote the work of these organisations on their platform.

Strengthening mental health-focused CSOs

• Support institutional strengthening and governance of CSOs through development and implementation of capacity strengthening and advocacy plans, with a particular focus on support to the Pan African Association of Persons with Psychosocial Disabilities (PANPPD).
• In consultation with relevant stakeholders, design criteria for awarding of capacity strengthening grants to ten mental health-focused CSOs. Coordinate the selection process for the grants. Oversee the administration of the grants. Monitor the activities, expenditure and impact of these grants. 
• Support CSOs to find channels to inform African mental health care provision.
• Link user organization’s to the Pan-African Network of People with Psychosocial  Disabilities (PANPPD) and the Global Mental Health Peer Network (GMHPN).

Improving accountability to civil society and people with lived experience

• Ensure engagement of people with lived experience by facilitating dialogue with representative organizations and organizing consultations. This will include working closely with PANPPD and GMHPN to facilitate a bottom-up process that captures input from the membership of these organisations to inform the AMHLP Governance structures , so that the perspectives of people with lived experience across the range of mental health needs, and geography, are captured and presented.
• Find routes to link people with lived experience with the overall AMHLP. programme, to help ensure that the programme is accountable to, and informed by, people with lived experience of mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities.
• In collaboration with PANPPD, contribute to the strengthening of accountability to people with lived experience at regional and continental levels.
• Organise the provision of logistical support and reasonable accommodation as needed to persons with lived experience so that they can be represented in all aspects of the programme, including attending the Programme Steering Committee, Project Management Committee and all the other Technical Working Group meetings.

Strengthen continental networks for advocacy

• Contribute to the better integration of representative and advocacy networks across countries and disciplines working in close collaboration with other project partners
• With Africa CDC and AFENET, work to connect the regional networks (which include graduates from each aspect of the AMLP) with civil society and existing initiatives inside and outside the public health systems to create opportunities of wider collaboration across countries and between healthcare and lay activists.

Programme management

• Manage the team, implementation of activities and stakeholder relationships. 
• Collect the necessary information and produce the quarterly narrative and financial progress reports.
• Monitor the programme’s expenditure against budget on a quarterly basis, flagging up significant under or over-spends, and preparing budget adjustment requests as necessary. With support from the finance staff on the project, collect all supporting information required by the donor for financial transactions and present this with the quarterly financial reports.
• Coordinate effectively with key stakeholders, including Africa CDC, AFENET, Wellcome Trust, MHIN, PANPPD and the GMHPN.
• Organise meetings and workshops, including the annual in-person CSO and lived experience workshops and the regular online Technical Working Group meetings.
• Identify reasonable accommodation needs in all activities. Draw up written guidance on provision of reasonable accommodation in the project, and effect the procurement and implementation processes for this.
• Coordinate the collection of learning and evidence across all activities of the programme.

• Follow-up on findings, recommendations, and Action Plans to ensure they are closed or updated.
• Keep track and ensure project documentation, filing, data base and reporting is up to date in line with donor requirements.
• In collaboration with Deputy Chief of Party provide effective, innovative, and supportive supervision to ensure operational efficiencies and outcome for planned activities.
• Train stakeholders on inclusive recruitment processes and reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities.

• Support documentation, analysis and reporting of project progress; maintain project data in accessible formats through regular and timely progress reporting. 
• Coordinate timely submission of agreed upon reports as per reporting schedule and protocol.
• Ensure relevant knowledge, project lessons learned, and other learning are internalized, documented, and shared with relevant stakeholders.  
• Responsible for delivering the CBM Brand, Media, and Advocacy events to meet Program priorities.
• Provides strategic and coordination support planning, administration, and relevant networking in the areas of disability inclusion.
• Takes lead for information gathering and dissemination.

These are your qualifications

• Relevant degree e.g. Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health, Business Administration.
• Demonstrated experience of at least 2 years in the non-for-profit development sector, 
• Working knowledge of systems strengthening approach towards achieving Social Development Goals.
• Ability and experience in communication for different purposes, to deliver both complex and simple material to meet the desire of the target audience.
• Experience in participatory monitoring, and impact assessment with a specific focus on monitoring and evaluating outcomes of disability inclusive programmes. 
• Demonstrated understanding of project cycle management 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, web-based and data application tools like Power BI
• Ability to establish, sustain and strengthen collaborative initiatives.
• Intercultural, gender and diversity competence. 
• Excellent organizational skills attention to details and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili. Local Language (professional proficiency / advantageous).
• Willingness to commit and adhere to CBM mandate, mission, vision, and values.

These are your responsibilities

• Drive staff members and official visitors for project-related trips, activities and assignments as requested.
• Facilitate the transfer of project visitors to/from their respective hotels to the office as well as airport transfers upon request.
• Induct staff on vehicle SOPs before embarking on field mission.
• Maintain an up-date record of the logbook (mileage, destinations, times & passengers, maintenance) for each trip in the book provided.
• Uphold and abides by the Vehicle policy and local traffic rules and standards.
• Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
• Present proper receipts on any expenditure incurred on their vehicle to the Officer in charge.
• Submit a written report if any damage is done or noticed on the vehicle.
• Ensure the vehicle has all accessories, submission of status reports, maintenance, fuel, vehicle cleanliness and general observation of SOPs.
• In liaison with the line supervisor, ensure that the Licenses are up-to date and that vehicles are well maintained and serviced on time as the need arises.
• Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean.
• Ensures that the assigned vehicle is serviced and properly checked before undertaking a long drive.

These are your qualifications

• Diploma in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Logistics, etc.
• At least 2 years of related work experience, particularly with international NGO preferred.
• A valid driving license, including defensive driving skills.
• Minimum of 5 years driving experience in the capital city and various major towns in country
• Ability to cope under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to efficiently handle a range of tasks concurrently to meet different needs. 
• Ability to integrate into a multi-cultural environment and willingness to learn.
• Able to work independently, and as a member of a team.
• Willingness to travel, within and outside the capital city, and other field locations where CBM has its operations.
• Track record of acting with integrity.
• Excellent knowledge of local driving rules and regulations, traffic laws, a good knowledge of the city and alternate routes to enable quick access.
• Certificate of Good conduct from the police
• Willingness to adhere and commit to CBM’s values, CBM Safety & Security Standard Operating Procedures
• Good written and verbal English
