Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, and best practices, with a focus on international operations
• Strong understanding of Kenyan financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements
• Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and advanced financial management software
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a diverse finance team
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effectively collaborating with stakeholders at all levels
• Analytical mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving and decision-making
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred
• Fluency in English or other local languages is a plus

Job Summary:

• The Public Relations Manager at Pullman and Mercure Nairobi Upperhill will be responsible for developing and executing strategic public relations initiatives to enhance the hotel’s image, build brand awareness, and foster media relations. This role will focus on positioning Pullman and Mercure Nairobi Upperhill. This position demands creativity, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of Premium and Midscale brand management in a dynamic market.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic PR Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies to increase awareness and drive positive publicity for Pullman and Mercure Nairobi Upperhill
• Align PR activities with the hotel's broader marketing and business objectives.

Media Relations

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and international media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
• Craft compelling press releases, media kits, and story pitches to secure coverage in target publications and digital platforms.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, arranging interviews, press visits, and media tours.

Content Creation & Brand Storytelling

• Oversee the creation of engaging content for press materials, social media, and the hotel’s digital platforms, showcasing Pullman and Mercure Nairobi Upperhill unique experience services.
• Coordinate with internal teams to source and create high-quality images, videos, and stories that highlight the brand.

Event Management & Press Conferences

• Plan, organize, and execute PR events, including press conferences, media luncheons, influencer events, and community engagement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with event teams to maximize media exposure and deliver memorable experiences for guests and media representatives.

Crisis & Reputation Management

• Develop crisis communication plans and lead response efforts to manage and mitigate negative publicity or issues that could impact the hotel’s reputation.
• Monitor news and social media channels to quickly address and manage any potential risks or brand-impacting situations.

Monitoring, Reporting & Analytics

• Track and report PR campaign performance, including media coverage, sentiment analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Use analytics tools to provide actionable insights and refine PR strategies for maximum impact.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

• Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including the marketing, F&B, and guest relations teams, to align PR strategies with the hotel’s broader business objectives.
• Collaborate with global Accor leverage group resources and ensure consistent brand messaging.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in public relations, with a preference for experience in hospitality.
• Proven track record of successful media relations and PR campaigns in the hospitality sector.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling stories and pitches.

Scope:                        

Assists the Head Therapist in maintaining the Spa facilities, good quality of service to guests, training spa employees to achieve good standards and selling products effectively. Also conducts therapy treatments and helps/ trains therapists to do therapy treatments effectively.

• Perform massage and treatments while maintaining the client's comfort at all times.
• Ensure individualized guest service through acknowledging and responding to their needs and expectation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years’ Previous experience as a Massage Therapist preferred in a 5* Hotel Property
• Certification from an accredited school of Massage, Body and Beauty required
• Certification in Aesthetics desired
• Experience and certification in one of the Spa disciplines of therapy preferred
• Flexible to work during shifts, weekends and holidays

Finance and Business Management:

• Achieve Budgeted Targets: Responsible for achieving budgeted goals in food sales, beverage sales, labour costs, and overall profitability, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Function Billing Oversight: Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of function billings to ensure proper invoicing and revenue recognition.
• Payroll Supervision: Supervise weekly payroll input, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labour regulations.

Marketing and Sales:

• Competitive Analysis: Analyze Food & Beverage Prices promptly, comparing them to competitors to ensure competitive pricing strategies are in place. Conduct competitive analysis semi-annually by gathering data from competitors to stay informed about market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Marketing Participation: Contribute to and actively participate in Food & Beverage marketing activities, collaborating with the marketing team to promote offerings effectively.
• Sales Promotions & Mailings: Develop and execute sales promotions and marketing mailings to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
• Sales Department Collaboration: Liaise regularly with the Sales Department to understand guest needs and preferences, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

Guest Experience and Relations:

• Guest Follow-up: Conduct timely follow-up calls with guests to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with their dining experience.
• Guest Entertainment: Host potential and existing guests, providing them with exceptional hospitality and entertainment to enhance their overall experience.
• Guest Relations: Establish rapport with groups to ensure guest satisfaction and encourage repeat business, fostering long-term relationships with key clientele.

Operations and Administration:

• Collaboration with Other Departments: Coordinate with Front Office, Room Reservations, and Sales Teams to ensure seamless execution of group requirements, involving the Executive Chef in relevant discussions.
• Emergency Availability: Be available to Hotel Staff for emergencies, providing support and guidance as needed to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.

Ad Hoc Duties: Fulfil other duties as directed by the General Manager or Hotel Manager, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing business needs.

• Maintenance Support: Contribute to overall Hotel Maintenance and cleanliness efforts, ensuring facilities are well-maintained and presentable to guests.

Training and Development:

• Previous Food & Beverage experience in a senior leadership role required
• Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications required
• University/College degree in a related discipline required
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Premium Hotel.

• Perform returns and special transactions through the POS system, ensuring all special offers have been applied correctly before being charged to the guest
• Keep the “register station” stocked with all necessary items
• Notify management of all guests’ POS System issues
• Consistently maintain a balanced cash drawer
• Process all guests’ payments by cash, credit cards, debit cards and/or gift vouchers
• Ensuring each waiter closes up any open checks they might have before their daily report has been printed off
• Filling out all waiters’ envelopes at the end of each night, performing all calculations including but not limited to CC Total, Cash Total and Tips Total
• Processing end of service calculations, doing end of shift and end of day revenue calculations
